Cherry bashes Ovechkin.
Don Cherry openly rips AO tonight on CBC. As a Canadian, I typically don't mind Cherry. But in his weekly segment, it almost sounds as if he champions the thought of someone laying out Ovechkin for how he celebrates goals.
The thing is, Ovechkin and Cherry aren't that different. While AO may be "excessive" in his on ice celebrations, Cherry is much the same in how he handles himself on the Coaches Corner.
Don Cherry's bashing of Ovechkin last night was off base but his trashing of Pavel Datsuyk and Henrik Zetterberg was truly nothing but anti-European xenophobic "sour grapes." Even though his role on "Hockey Night in Canada" is iconic, it's time his schtick got toned down. The guy is just pushing the envelope so much soon his commentary will become totally irrelevant.
A converted Washington Capitals fan since '98, TJ CAPS8 enjoys spending his life on HFBoards. He also enjoys spending time with his close friends and girlfriend, as well as wearing flip flops. Turn offs include post it notes and photos of Gary Busey.
I would love to someday blog for a major Washington Capitals (or any NHL) publication.
